Due Dates
Create a section on your website/online portfolio titled 3: The Photographer's Sketchbook where you will add your proposal and all work for this yearlong project. Share it! A rubric must be completed before shooting and turned in with final work for a grade for each.
1st Marking Period:
9/25 - Proposal Planning Packet Due
9/25 - Photographer's Sketchbook Proposal on your website/online portfolio
Proposal statement:
1. What is your starting point or main idea, what is the thread or engine, why have you chosen it, what are the themes, metaphors, symbols? Where do you see it going? What medium will you explore? What will keep you interested? – 10 points
2. 4 images of your own past work representing something about your idea. This could be anything so far this year or in the past that has a similar subject matter, style, composition, or direction you may want to explore. – 10 points
3. Artist inspiration: a paragraph explaining their work and what inspires you, at least 5 images of their work – 10 points
9/25-9/27 - Presentations of Proposals and crafting of rubrics
10/9 - Rubric for #1 due
10/30- Roll #1: objective, contact sheet, top 3 images, artist inspiration, and brainstorms - Final Critique, Reflect, and Planning 10/30-11/1
2nd Marking Period:
11/13 - Rubric for #2 due
12/4 - Roll #2: objective, contact sheet, top 3 images, artist inspiration, and brainstorms - Final Critique, Reflect, and Planning 12/4-12/6
12/18 - Rubric for #3 due
1/22 - Roll #3: objective, contact sheet, top 3 images, artist inspiration, and brainstorms - Final Critique, Reflect, and Planning 1/22-1/24

4/19 - 4/25 - Work on The Photographer's Sketchbook book pages
4/19 - 4/25 - Individual portraits for P.S. book
4/26 - The Photographer's Sketchbook Book rough drafts - turn in flattened jpegs to Ms. Borleis, make sure to keep PSD files with all your layers to make adjustments
4/26 - Class portrait for P.S. book
4/30 - The Photographer's Sketchbook Book final design - turn in flattened jpegs to Ms. Borleis, make sure to keep PSD files with all your layers to make adjustments.
5/2 - The Photographer's Sketchbook books ordered - $20-30 (possible fundraiser to pay for books)
5/7 - 5/25 - The Photographer's Sketchbook show up in the atrium (Hopefully)
