The Film Assignment
Students will chronicle light throughout the day by shooting a roll of 400 ISO film. Through the use of bracketing, spot metering, and the bulb setting, students will create compositions that explore different times of day and specific feelings created by that light.
The Light Log & Thumbnails
Keep track of the different types of light you encounter on an average day starting from the first light you see when you wake up to the last light you see before you go to sleep. Note the time it's encountered, the light source (sunlight, lamp, cellphone, etc.), and give a description of the light (dim, bright, cool, warm, etc.).
After completing the light log, pair up with two classmates and create a total of four thumbnails based off entries from your and your classmate's light logs (two based off your light log, and one form each classmate's lightlog). Include the following as notes next to your thumbnails:
